Stinging Pests FACTS & INFORMATION

- Bees are social insects that live in hives or colonies. They are important pollinators and produce honey.
- Bees typically only sting in self-defense, and their stingers are barbed and can only be used once before the bee dies.
- Wasps are also social insects that can be aggressive when their nest is threatened.
- Hornets are a type of wasp that are larger and more aggressive than other wasps. They are known for their painful stings and can be dangerous in large numbers.
- Fire ants are small, aggressive ants that are known for their painful stings. They live in large colonies and are common in warm, humid climates.

Tanner was great, he spent ample time on my property and was very thorough. There was one area that I wanted to have more attention, and with a great attitude he did what I asked. I am very very pleased with this company!

Neighbors Pest Solutions is a notably professional pest control company that provided me with cost-effective services for my residence. They specialize in eradicating a variety of pests. Following weeks of dealing with ant and spider infestations at the onset of these warm summer months, my property is now on track to be free from the issue.
Unlike many companies that tend to oversell and suggest unnecessary additions, I was pleasantly surprised by Josh Davis, who presented a personalized solution tailored to my home's needs. Will update soon on the progress.

Derek knocked on our door the same day we had happened to find a massive spider in our daughter's toy box. Perfect timing! He was very patient with us and answered all of my questions about toxicity of the pesticide products (we have a 16 month old daughter and a cat). Albert showed up to perform the service a few days later. He was very professional and notified me a few minutes prior to arriving to my home. He made sure to close the gates after he was finished as I'd mentioned that was a concern since my daughter is a little runaway and he again assured me that once everything dried, it would be safe for my daughter to play outside. Albert explained everything he did and what we may expect over the next few days/weeks. Hoping this makes a difference in the webs all over our backyard and the earwigs in our rose beds!

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
The more you know about Stinging pests, the better you can predict and control their behavior. Here are some quick facts to help you on your way.
If you get stung by a bee or wasp, remove the stinger if it's still in the skin. Wash the area with soap and water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Over-the-counter pain relievers can help relieve pain. If you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or hives, seek medical attention immediately.

To protect yourself from stinging pests while outdoors, wear long-sleeved shirts and pants, closed-toe shoes, and avoid wearing perfume or bright colors that can attract insects. Use insect repellent that contains DEET or another EPA-approved ingredient. Avoid swatting at flying insects, as this can provoke them and increase the risk of stings.
Bees are typically fuzzy and rounder than wasps, and their bodies are usually darker in color. Wasps have smoother bodies and are often brightly colored with black and yellow stripes. Bees also have barbed stingers that remain in the skin, while wasps have smooth stingers that can be used repeatedly.
There are several natural remedies that can help relieve the pain and swelling from stinging pest stings, such as applying a paste made of baking soda and water or aloe vera gel to the affected area. Some people also recommend using essential oils, such as lavender or tea tree oil, to reduce inflammation. However, if you experience severe symptoms or an allergic reaction, seek medical attention immediately.
